Howdy! Y'all Come On In....

Welcome to The Cowgirl Collective!...a place where the gypsy cowgirl spirit is celebrated and modern western lifestyle collides with southern charm.  We hope to inspire you with a little more of all the things we are crazy about....boots, fringe, horses, fashion, DIY, family, music, and all things turquoise.

Meet the gals---->>  Thanks to a shared passion for creating their own western accessories,  Sue and Lindy met via Facebook by networking through their two businesses.  Sue is the owner of Gritty N Pretty.  She makes adorable western jewelry and specializes in unique, colorful clay jewelry.  Lindy is the owner of Cowgirl Relics.  She focuses on creating affordable, rustic western jewelry and her own line of original graphic tees.  Over the past couple of years they struck up a friendship, brought together by their businesses, Oklahoma and Texas roots, and all their other common interests.  They hope to, one day very soon, meet in person, but until then....The Cowgirl Collective will bridge the miles between them.

Sue---->>

Growing up in a small town in Western Oklahoma I was surrounded by the culture of the plains Indians and the cowboy lifestyle. My mother being the creative artist and outdoorsy lady she is, laid a foundation for me to build on from a young age. I have been making jewelry for about 13 years now and am completely self taught. I tend to work mostly in clays and resins but you will also find some mixed media thrown in at times. My jewelry is not meant to fit a certain age or style but to provoke a feeling of uniqueness and, hopefully, stir your inner gypsy cowgirl spirit.

I now live in Georgia with my wonderful husband and our beautiful daughter along with a few horses and one out of control dog.  Living in the South has added a whole new element to my already funky style and I've started saying "Hey y'all" quite often! I hope you'll stop by and have some sweet tea, browse our collection of cowgirl gear shoot the breeze with us often!

Lindy---->>

Texas girl-born and raised, Pacific Northwest transplant, and Owner and Designer at Cowgirl Relics. I am obsessed with all things turquoise and western fashion-new and old.  The louder, the bigger, the bolder….the better!  I can’t help but be inspired by all things I love—nature and the great outdoors, photography, my 4 sassy American Quarter Horses, Red Dirt/Texas music, travel, family, friends, and life in the American West.  I have been married for 13 years to the love of my life.  In 2009, we left Texas for Washington State and have been on the adventure of a lifetime ever since.  We love life in the Northwest and can be found fly fishing on a western river or riding our horses up in the mountains  together every chance we get.  As our friends and family say—-we are living the dream!

I began Cowgirl Relics in 2009-2010 as a way to make unique, trendy and elegant western accessories for myself without breaking the bank and it has become my goal to provide the same for my customers.  I don’t believe you should have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to wear stylish, high quality jewelry and accessories.  I believe western fashion can be affordable!  I am still in awe at how my little venture has grown over the past few years—-at the things it has lead me to do and the people it has brought into my life.  It even brought Sue and I together and helped forge a long-distance friendship that has been a tremendous blessing for which I am so grateful.

My personal mantra is, “With just a little bit of grit and grace, anything is possible.”  It is a constant reminder to me to never give up, to dream bigger than life itself, and to embrace each precious moment life gives us-for we never know when it might be our last.  I hope you enjoy following our little blog along and that it inspires you to be true to yourself, to be bold in your personal style, and to always “keep it cowgirl”. ;)
